Cloudy But Fun

September 10, 2007

Kelly and I spent almost the entire day in Algonquin Park. Although it was cloudy and a bit cool, we had a wonderful time. At one point after stopping at a look-out point to take pictures, Kelly was walking backwards and stepped in a sink hole and fell on her butt. Don’t worry, she is fine. But the look on her face as she was falling backwards was priceless and I just could not stop laughing. Once I had established that she was ok, I described how it had looked complete with her facial expression. By then we were both laughing so hard that Kelly wet herself. (It’s okay, she said I could tell.)

Later at another stop, I lowered the ramp of my van and we sat inside munching on a few snacks, three chipmunks decided to inform us that they wanted to eat too. After we threw them a few almonds, they came right into the van, taking food from our fingers. One even climbed up my pantleg to see what I had for him.

We had a wonderful day. It’s raining now, but no matter. We are settled in for the night.
