Summer Pause
Alright alright. I know. A few of you have been kind enough to gently remind me that I have been absent for far too long. So I decided I’d better post, lest you all think I’ve run off with some nudist cult.
It has been 20 days since my last post, and for that I apologize. It’s been very crazy lately, and as Kelly remarked while looking at the calendar for the next few weeks, “Holy moly we’re busy!”
The office has kept me hopping with long hours, we’ve been apartment hunting for Kelly, we’ve gone back to the nudist place once, and I’ve generally spent a lot of time outdoors. It is summer after all, for just a few more weeks anyway.
The good news is that there is light at the end of the tunnel. The crush of work at the office is slowing, we are past our peak season and as all the fall publications head to the printers and the refreshed web sites go live, I can breathe again. Not only that, but Kelly and I are headed on vacation in just a couple of weeks!!
We are headed to the same area we went last year (just outside Algonquin Park), only this time I was able to find an accessible cottage. We will finally get the peace and quiet we had hoped for, the dark star filled skies, and hopefully hear more loons calling.
I’ve been toying with the idea of a short post every day while on our trip. Just so we can take all of you with us. It would likely comprise of nothing more than a picture or two and a short blurb about what you’re looking at, but I thought y’all might enjoy that. It will depend on whether or not we have internet access at the cottage. Somehow I doubt it. Then again for all I know, the squirrels and loons read my blog.
I’d love to be “taken along” as long as it is fun for you two. That would be fun 🙂 Aloha, O
Yes, I was missing YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I am glad you thought to write again!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I am happy you are going on a vacation with Kelly.
And I’d be just as happy seeing your photos when you return.
(although when I was gone it became very apparent to me I was hooked on my blog connections and despriately sought out computers along the road to hook into to reconnect…am I sick or what?)
My advice would be to go and enjoy where you are, who you are with and forget the rest of the world for the duration. (easier said than done).
So how was day two at the nudist camp?
Did I just read “y’all” in your blog, Syl?? Have you secretly been studying American dialects present in Alabama and Georgia and the Carolinas?
Glad to see you are nearing the end of the crazy time at work, and your vacation sounds just delightful. My wife and I will be on vacation at the same time, and with much the same goal: peace, quiet, and restful time together. We will be at her family’s Michigan cottage for two weeks. Can’t wait!
That “ya’ll” surprised me, too. Ya’ll.
your upcoming vacation sounds absolutely fabulous!!! enjoy!
