L.E.D. #1
As Kelly mentioned on her blog, we have been talking about how true it is that you learn something new every day. We’ve decided to blog about it, even if it’s just a one liner. I have been floored over the past couple of days by some of the doozies that I’ve learned. Not everyday will be like that, but certainly, if you really think about it, you do learn SOMETHING. Also, I think I’ve gotten to an age where I might be relearning things. I used to know it, but it left me. 🙂 That counts too.
I was trying to come up with a catchy name for this, so if any of you have any suggestions, let me know. For now I am using “LED” which stands for “Learning Every Day”. (yes I changed it, deal with it)
Today for instance, I learned that when a short track speed skater crosses the finish line, he or she cannot extend their leg in order to cross first. It is only permisible if the skate is in contact with the ice as it crosses the line.
Certainly not the most practical little tidbit, but I didn’t know it, and now I do.
The things that we learn, and the way that we learn them, and sometimes even from whom, are part of what makes us who we are. This exercise is intended to help me appreciate the little bits of knowledge that I have gained every day, and perhaps to recognize and appreciate the sources.
Can I play along on my blog? Can I? Huh, huh huh?
Absolutely!! I would love it if this would catch on. If nothing else, it forces us examine the influences in our lives. YOU, my dear, are often a source of newness. And I appreciate you for it.
That was wicked !
Fancy editing a post while I was just watching a fascinating little documentary somebody else had blogged about…

I come back, and … Huh ?! … What happened ?! 😯
Ok… I’ll deal with it…. somehow… 🙄
And look! Weasel of Doom is doing it now, too!! http://weaselofdoom.com/?p=617
