LED #4

February 16, 2010

Somewhat of a slow day today. I’m still feeling sore from either the car accident or perhaps from shovelling snow. More likely the latter, but who knows.

Pain makes me grumpy and depressed so I didn’t do a whole lot. Luckily the Olympics kept me entertained. I was waiting part of the day for womens Snowboard Cross to start. They were delayed several times due to fog.

In the mean time, most of the stations were showing Curling. That isn’t a sport that I have ever given the time of day to. But today I watched, and I learned, albeit just enough to make it interesting. I can see how it would be very exciting once you got to understand all the strategy involved.

A few of the terms I learned are Button, which is the term for the inner red circle, and the House is the blue circle that’s around it. So I learned those terms, and not too much else. Well, of course I figured out what the objective is. But I’m not going to pretend like I know all the rules, and besides, I don’t want to make a fool of myself as I’m sure one of you is an expert.

The women’s Snowboard Cross finally came on late in the afternoon. What a fun sport that is to watch, very exciting.  Best of all,  Canada won a GOLD Medal!!

    Hi Sylvain,

Any time you want to talk curling, just let me know. I got into the game through friends and slowly fell for it. The Olympic final on Saturday was the big event of the games for me (with apologies to hockey fans but I feel about hockey like you do about curling).

Anyway, sorry about the essay but I just wanted to say hi and hope you’re feeling less down in the dumps.
